Bio & CV

From an early age, Rachel loved to draw and paint. In high school, she also explored her interest in photography, spending hours in the school darkroom. In 2000, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. Although primarily focusing on sculpture and printmaking, she secretly wanted to be a painter.

Of course, moving to New York City to become an artist was the dream. When it became clear working part-time for an art dealer couldn’t support a young artist’s life in the city, she began working full-time in marketing. It wasn’t until 9 years later that Rachel began to draw again, realizing she wasn’t pursuing her true passion. The difficult decision to focus on making art full-time ultimately meant a change in lifestyle and leaving New York.

Since then, Rachel has worked on developing her painting practice. Her work has been featured in museums and galleries including the Mystic Museum of Art in Connecticut and the Lamont Gallery in Exeter, New Hampshire. She has received an alumni fellowship and given artist talks and interviews. Her drawings have been published in an anthology of the sport of cycling. Additionally, her work has received awards, and is collected and commissioned Internationally.

Rachel works from her home studio in Rhode Island.
